Sacrococcygeal Pilonidal Sinus Disease (SPSD) is a chronic
inflammatory disorder in the midline of the natal cleft. The discharge
associated with pain is often incapacitating specially when sitting
and affects the quality of life of the sufferer.
We treat SPSD with radical excision by demarcating the tracts using
methylene blue dye, and closure using rotation flap.
Pioneered by Dr Abbas himself, this procedure has the least rate of
recurrence compared to other procedures described in literature.
